English Tudor Bed 1558 - Walnut Dollhouse Miniature

This walnut finished wooden miniature english tudor bed reproduction circa 1558 is a 1:12 scale dollhouse bedroom furniture accessory by JBM Miniatures. The original bed was made during the tudor dynasty in England 1558-1603. This fine miniature reproduction of the original bed has an elaborately carved wooden headpiece supported by a tall paneled bedhead and two turned posts on the foot board. Each panel in the headboard and footboard is decorated with a carved motif sometimes with the families coat of arms. Traditionally, teds were designed for warmth and privacy and they were so valuable and highly prized that they were passed down the generations and the 14th century onward it is not unusual to find them mentioned in wills. Size: 7.28" tall by 5.16" wide by 7.5" long.
